Some great items on this list! Borobudur Temple was a highlight during our month in Indonesia (so glad we did the sunrise tour and beat the crowds). Banff and Jasper are such amazing areas! Our visit to those parks happened in April so not too much hiking, but we did manage a dogsledding trip through the mountains to the great divide.

Awesome round up as usual! I love the wife carrying festival – seems like it would be a totally wacky thing to see. July has two of my favorite festivals. I love fireworks and Venice celebrates the end of the plague still to this day with a massive party in the lagoon culminating in a 45 minute long fireworks display. And beautiful Lake Bled hosts Bled Days and Night in which 10,000 floating candles are released on Lake Bled by the pletnas and there are of course fireworks.

Nice list Brad; think I’ll sign up Spanky for the Wife Carrying championship. Watching the bears in Alaska would be cool, just saw a National Geographic documentary on them last weekend and it’s amazing to see them hunt. Kayaking with Beluga whales in Quebec: Tadoussac is the place to use as a base. Lots of different kinds of whales and the kayaking is done on the Saguenay river (a highlight in its own right).I’ve got a lot on Tadoussac and the Saguenay on my site.
Great job,
